NZ Poem: tale wind

language technique: Metaphors

.The poet has used metaphors to put images into our heads and uses different things to describe what the wind is doing, ” the tale wind leans against your window-pane”

.this is saying that the wind is blowing so hard that it could be thought that is was leaning but of course, wind can’t lean.

This gives the effect that the wind is almost alive which would also cover another language feature, personification.
